The food was satisfying. I wanted to make sure Ruthie had food in her stomach before we got to the cabin rentals. Once weâre done, she pays the bill. I cringe. Sheâs spending money, which makes me feel like a tool, but then I remind myself that she wonât be needing the money in her bank account for much longer.
Her time left on land is minimal.
I wait for her next to the car. The urge to make a dash for the water is tempting, but thereâs a woman inside currently paying the bill that requires me to stay.
When she comes outside, I reluctantly get back into the car. She gets back in the driverâs seat and shuts her door.
âWhere to now?â She put the keys into the ignition and starts the car.
âThere are cabin rentals a few miles from here.â
She frowns before turning to look at me. âHow do you know all this?â
âItâs not my first time on land.â
âYou come on land a lot?â
âEnough.â
âOkay,â she says. âLetâs just get to where weâre going. I donât enjoy being stuck in the car.â
Me too. I mutter the directions to her and within a few minutes, weâre sitting outside the cabin office. The open sign flashes in the window.
âWhich one do I want?â she asks.
âIt doesnât matter.â All the cabins are relatively secluded. Plus, itâs the off season. I can come and go from the water by the pier further down the beach. When itâs high tide, thereâs a tight fit under the wood planks where I can go to dry out without being seen by anyone who passes by.
âHow long am I staying?â
I donât like the way she asks the question. This is the problem with the way Iâm affecting her right now. On the one hand, I get what I want. On the other, she seems to lose pieces of herself along the way. Just in the time since we left the facility, sheâs acting differently. I donât know how much of it Iâm causing. âHow long do you want to stay?â
She shrugs. âIâm not sure. Iâm not sure what I can afford either.â
âA few days then. You can always extend it if you want.â
âOkay.â
I go inside with her. The woman behind the desk seems almost surprised that weâre there. Ruthie smiles at her.
âWelcome,â the woman says, turning off the small television thatâs blaring the morning news.
âHi there. We were hoping to rent one of your cabins.â Ruthie sets her purse on the counter. I hang back, my eyes focusing on one of the crooked oil ocean scenes hanging on the wall. Dust gathers on the white of the waves, making them appear more of a yellowish color.
âWe have several cottages to choose from.â
I glance over at them, my eyes catching the curve of her ass in the black leggings she has on. There are faint lines where her panties lay against her skin. Iâm well aware of how a human can become enthralled with an Oceanid, but Iâve never heard of an Oceanid becoming enthralled with a human.
